Gold American Eagle Coins
The U.S. Mint launched the new Gold Eagle design midyear 2021 and includes an updated obverse and new reverse design.
American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins
American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins unlike their proof counterparts, are not sold directly to the general public, but to a series of authorized buyers. These buyers obtain the uncirculated bullion coins from the Mint based on the current spot price of the metal plus a small premium. American Eagle Gold Bullion Coins are made in four denominations that contain one ounce, half-ounce, quarter-ounce and tenth-ounce of gold.
Coin Design
Obverse: A refreshed version of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
Reverse: The design depicts a portrait of an eagle. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 10 DOLLARS and 1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD.
Coin Artists
Obverse: Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848 – 1907)
Reverse: Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) designer Jennie Norris created the design that was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon.
